I recently relocated to San Diego for a job and so I set out to find some San Diego movers. I had never really used a moving company before so I was not sure what to do first. My wife was obviously very concerned with our furniture and things. All she could think about was showing up at our new place and seeing the furniture all dinged up. That is when I knew that I had to find a good company that I could trust and that most importantly was insured.

Since I was not from the area I really had no friends or family to get any good references from. So I set out to look online. But then something occurred to me as I looked over the listings in Google. There really were not many bad reviews and I kind of got the impression that lots of the reviews looked sort of fake. Great I thought, now I cannot even trust reviews. After thinking about it and asking a few people how to solve this problem I came up with a solution.

It was a coworker that gave me some really good insights. He told me to look for a company that was licensed, bonded, and insured. But there is a tricky part to that because most moving companies are all three of these things, not all of them and that allowed me to cut my list down a bit. But the coworker mentioned that most companies say that they are insured but in reality only one, maybe two, people are insured and this allows them to make that statement.

So the trick was to ask if all of their movers were licensed and insured. Sure enough that cut my list down significantly. I was moving to north county in San Diego so I looked for some Oceanside movers and called to make sure that their entire staff was legit. I ended up finding a company that I felt comfortable with so I scheduled the move. The price was really good since I found a coupon on the company’s Google local listing. I got a 15% off discount. The best part about the whole thing is that the move went really smooth. Nothing was damaged and my wife was very happy about that. For me it was a win-win situation. I found a good company at a great price, and made the wife happy at the same time.
